Live Figure Drawings
A Drawing
Experiment
A part of my experience as an art student in San Diego State University was to participate in Life Drawing classes. In these classes, a different model each day was to come and conduct a variety of poses for us students to practice drawing with.
The first few poses were 1-7 minutes long, acting as a warm up for our longer pose. Then, the last would be 40-60 minutes long, conducted in 20 minute increments.
We worked with a variety of mediums, namely charcoal, graphite, pastels, watercolor, ink, and conte crayon. As an advanced student I was instructed to create a portfolio out of these initial drawings with an overall theme, so I gathered a few drawings and created oil paintings out of them surrounding the themes of death and rebirth.
